A former UK sales inager for Dodge Trucks has en appointed chief ecutive and director of ire (1980), the petrol and ,?.ls marketing group which is gotiating its way out of an elusive contract to supply noco (UK) fuels.
Stewart Harris has worked the oil industry since 1947, ten he joined Shell in South rica. Between 1960 and 164, however, he was with e Chrysler Corporation, tterly as Dodge Trucks' UK
sales manager.
After three years as director and general manager of VIP Petroleum (now Elf UK) he formed his own distribution company, Trident. This closed in 1973 with the oil crisis. Since then his appointments have included the post of managing director and general sales manager of Pace Petroleum.
As head of Flare, which operates 70 road tankers as well as having its sign on about 300 filling stations, Harris will be overseeing the group's transition to free-market product supply.
