preju1 diced the case, said Mr. W. F. Quin, Scottish Licensing Authority, at Glasgow last week, when he refused an application by Mr. Fraser Ross, 71 Stobcross Street, Glasgow, for a 4-tonner, to be acquired. The vehicle was sought to carry groceries, farm produce, feeding stuffs and building materials from Glasgow to Inverness and the north.
For the objectors, Highland Haulage, Ltd., Mr. J. B. T. Loudon said that his clients had adequate capacity to carry to the area and had not been approached by the applicant.
Mr Quin ruled that the applicant must show that his revenue had increased, that customers were seriously dissatisfied or inconvenienced, and have reasonable hiring figures. As Mr. Ross had failed to do any of these things his application must fail.
