DESCRIBED as "a man who has gone through his probation on short-term licences". Mr. P. Kearney was granted a full-term B licence for a tipper by Metropolitan LA, Mr. D.I.R. Muir, on Monday. There were four objectors to the application.
Mr. Kearney said that he had about 10 short-term licences in the last four years.
In answer to Mr. P. Focke, for the objectors, he said that all last year he had been working for Road Foundations Ltd. on motorway work at Stanborough by-pass, and that that company would continue to employ him in the future. Mr. J. Wheland, of L. Webb Ltd., said that his company would be able to offer Mr. Kearney three to five months work a year.
