GO-FAST Ltd has closed down its parcels delivery operations, creating 90 redundancies in Liverpool, Denbigh, Builth Road, Daventry, and Norwich.
The company, which took over Liverpool-based TaylorHulse two years ago, has been losing money, and the parent Brook Hire Ltd group was determined not to bear these any longer.
The managing director, Peter Brook, said: "The firm has lost a lot of money over the past couple of years, and there was a danger of it pulling down the rest of the group."
Transport and General Workers Union officials opposed the closure, but Mr Brook added: "We are hoping that the TGWU won't do anything which may result in another six or seven hundred on the dole."
