AN automatic advance for incorporation in the drive to an injection pump is shown in patent No. 775,214. (L, Grisel and H. Trousson, 28 Rue Saussure, Paris.) It is claimed that it can be constructed to give any desired speed/advance law.
The driving spindle carries a doubleended lever (1) which is coupled by links (2) to centrifugal weights (3). These are pivoted to the driven member on pins (4). The weights are biased inwardly by • springs compressed on central rods (5). The two rods are joined at the centre by a floating ring (6) so that the •spring force is evenly shared between the two weights.
As the weights fly outwards, the links are pulled more into line and so produce relative movement. If additional operating force be needed, two such assemblies may be superimposed.
