AMOBILE electrically powered hydraulic vehicle lift has recently been announced. Known as the Mobylift, the device is manufactured under licence by the Westinghouse Group of companies and marketed by Ruggeri Petroleum Pumps Ltd.
The makers claim that the Mobylift Model TI.J.25 can be easily manceuvred by one man and will lift vehicles weighing up to 2-5 tons to heights of up to 5 ft. 9 in. in about 911 seconds. The lift can be stopped at any intermediate height And the design of the hydraulic circuit automatically prevents over-quick lowering.
A great deal of attention has been paid to safety in the design of this lift; the manceuvring wheel is automatically put out of action once lifting commences so that the lift casnot move or be moved once in use. An automatic cut-out comes into operation when the lift reaches its maximum height and another automatic control ensures that the lift will not function if placed under a vehicle weighing more than 2-5 tons.
The folded height of the Mobylift is approximately 6 in. and the overall dimensions of the lifting pads are adjustable to suit various vehicle widths and wheelbases.
The delivered price of the Mobylift in England is £282. A heavy-duty version is due to be produced later this year.
