PLANS have been announced by Volvo truck division to sell trucks in the USA. Initially, a dealer network is being developed to cover 12 states in the north east and it is intended to sell 300 to 400 vehicles in the first year.
A specially adapted vehicle, the F86US, has been produced which features a weight-reduced chassis as well as several components manufactured in the US.
The tractive unit is designed for heavy distribution work over short distances and is rated for a gross combination weight of 66,0001b.
