ASUGGESTION that lorry traffic should be discouraged on main roads out of large towns at night was made in the Commons this week by Mr. John Parker (Labour, Dagenham). This was turned down by the joint Parliamentary Secretary to the Ministry, Mr. T. G. D. Galbraith; he said the proposal would only cause more congestion by day.
