An Amended Schedule as the Result of an Agreement Between the M.O.W.T. and the S.J.C.
THE following notes should be read in conjunction with the accompanying schedule of rates for W.D. goodsvehicle hire.
A week means 48 hours, Monday to SaturdaY inclusive. Hours in excess will be paid for at the hourly rate up to 564, including work on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Those over 56i hours will be paid for at two-thirds the hourly rate. 'For work on Sundays and Bank Holidays, driver's single-time rate will also be paid. Where applicable, subsistence allowance will be in accordance with para. 11 of R.H.14 or any subsequent amendment. If petrol or oil fuel he supplied from W.D. sources, the value at commercial rate will be deducted from the carrier's bill. This arrangement will apply in only exceptional circumstances, as agreed between A.R.H.O. and the authorized officer.
Rations for Drivers
Where food and/or accommodation be provided from W.D. sources, a charge will be made against the carrier at 3s. 3d. per full day's ration to the soldier's scale, and 1. per day, for accommodation. Carriers remain responsible for securing the agreement of individual employees to any deduction made from statutory deduction,
As regards half-day and daily hire, a day equals 84 hours, and half a day 54 hours. Work in excess will be paid for at the hourly rate Subsistence allowance will also be paid as above, and work on Sundays and Bank Holidays at rates for ordinary working days plus single-time wage. The above proviso regarding fuel also applies, as does that concerning food and/or accommodation.
The rates follow closely the rates schedule known as RH/D/20, with a provision for a scale of half-daily rates.
