• Mr James Polesworth, a mobile greengrocer of Leeds Road. Bradford, was fined £8 and ordered to pay £1.20 witness costs at Bradford magistrates' court last week when he admitted operating a vehicle without an 0 licence. He was given 28 days to pay.
Mr Raymond E. Thomas, a DoE vehicle examiner, said that following inquiries it was found that the vehicle, which had an unladen weight of 2 tons was not covered by an operator's licence. As a result of this Mr Polesworth was interviewed on July 28 1971 and told the vehicle examiner that the vehicle which was on hire did not, so far as he knew, need a 0 licence and that he intended to dispose of it in any case as soon as the excise licence expired.
