BUTTERFIELD-HARVEY, the parent company of refuse lorry manufacturer Shelvoke and Drewry, is to receive £2m and access to new technology from an American manufacturer of refuse lorries.
Shelvoke applied to Technology Inc for a licence to use Ti's advanced tailgate design which would have made it more cornpetitive.
TI agreed to the licence and also decided to put money into BH, allowing Shelvoke to get a more competitive refuse lorry and immediate entry into some new export markets.
