new range of Comet goods vehicles with direct-acting air-pressure brakes, Leyland Motors, Ltd., are now offering a Comet 12C6RP and LP passenger chassis with the same brake equipment.
It is a 16-ft. 11-in.-wheelbase chassis with rightor left-hand driving controls, generally similar to the corresponding goods model, having an 0.370 diesel engine, five-speed gearbox with optional sixth-speed overdrive, and Vista-Vue cab front structure. The rear axle can be a spiral bevel unit with 6.167 to 1 ratio or a two-speed unit, and standard tyre equipment is 9.00-20 (10-ply).
