AA NEW type of container system, called . the ExpressPak, has been developed in the U.S.A. by Ryder System, Inc., Miami. The container, which Can hold about 1.5 tons, attaches to the main framing members of a semi-trailer, and incorporates wheels, built-in lifting gear and side doors.
The containers. are made of steel and weigh 850 lb., and attachment to a semitrailer is claimed to take only minutes. Ryder's are using the containers on their Package Express delivery services, and their use is permitting last-minute acceptance of traffic and immediate access to the smalls on arrival at the destination.
