THE MONKEY Sanctuary at Looe, Cornwall, has been advertising for a "young man, 22-35 . . to join our family team."
Applicants would, of course, be interviewed by a panel of chimpanzees. The work involved "relating to visitors in the summer," which I take to mean pushing bananas through the bars to them.
The advertisement added: "Socialist preferred ..." Here was a great opportunity for one of the many Labour candidates who failed in the General Election.
