THE ''pirate operations '' of a minibus carrying bingo fans were referred to in prosecutions at Llanelly 'Magistrates' Court last week.
Mr. D. Williams. of Cross Hands, was fined a total of £41, and his son and partner, Mr. D. J. Williams, a total of
£45. They were each ordered to pay £3 2s. 6d, in costs.
Mr. W. S. 'Vinyard, prosecuting for the Ministry of Transport, said father and son traded is Dan Williams and Son and operated a minibus to take passengers twice weekly from Cross Hands to bingo sessions a: Garnant. Charges jointly preferred against both were of causing a vehicle to be used as an express carriage without a p.s.v. licence, causing a p.s.v. to he used without a road service licence, and employing drivers who were not licensed For such work. There were four additional charges against D. 3. Williams for driving a public service vehicle when not licensed to do so.
Mr. Tillyard said they had applied for a licence for one of the vehicles they were using, but were not granted it iS certain modifications on it needed to be undertaken.
