COMPANY OBJECTIONS' DEFEAT NOTTINGHAM'S APPLICATIONS A FTER an all-day sitting, the East rl Midland Traffic Commissioners, in Nottingham, on May 29, refused all the applications of Nottingham's transport department for consent to run bus services between Mount Street bus station and the western outskirts of the city. Objectors were the Midland General Omnibus Co., Ltd., Barton Transport, Ltd., Trent Motor Traction Co.;Ltd., and Notts County Council.
Mr. L. W. A. White, for the Barton and Trent concerns, alleged that the applications were "claim-jumping of the worst type," and suggested that there was more behind. them than had been told. He maintained that it was "not the usual frank application one would expect from a great corporation."
