AN application by a Fettercairn farmer and agricultural contractor for a new vehicle on B licence and alterations to the conditions of his existing B licence was rejected last week by the Scottish Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. Alex Robertson. He told Mr. Frank MacKay, Thornyhill, that the refusal was on the ground of illegal operation, and not because of evidence nut forward by the 13 objectors. Mr. MacK4 had been deliberately trying to break the law, said Mr. Robertson. When the existing 11 licence name up for renewal, evidence would have to be produced to show that it was being, used for its proper purpose.
GOODYEAR'S NEW DIVISION WILL AID MANUFACTURERS
AA NEW engineering products division has been formed by the Goodyear Tyre and Rubber CO. (Great Britain), Ltd. It will take over the further development, manufacture and testing of the company's industrial disc brakes and Ausco doubledisc brakes, which have hitherto been handled by the aviation products division.
Facilities for precision machining, fabrication, assembly and testing are provided, so that the new division can handle contract work. 'this will help manufacturers who require additional production hi the light engineering category and companies who want to market items for which they do not have adequate production 'facilities. The factory equipment is particularly well suited to major production orders.
RAILWAYS INTO ROADS
THE T. Han Lloyd Railway Conversion League whose object is to promote the recognition of the need for converting railways into roads, has been incorporated as a limited company with 100 members. Its title is the Railway Conversion League, Ltd.
