• Isle of Man Steam Packet Co Ltd has taken over the business of its Liverpool agent, Thomas Orford and Son, and the associated cartage firm of W. 0: and T. F. Orford, which is concerned with the collection and delivery of Manx goods and parcels traffic in the Merseyside area,
Thomas Orford and Son will in future have full branch office status of the Manx company. The take-over has been completed with the retirement of the proprietor, Mr Harold F. Orford, who had been with the business for 46 years, the last 25 as Liverpool agent.
A director of the Steam Packet company, Mr A. Alexander, has been appointed the new Liverpool agent.
