ir-ILD friendships were renewed and memories revived at a gathering last 'i' week of 100 British Road Services officers Who served under Maj.-Gen. G. N. Russell when he was chairman of the board of B.R.S.
It is now five years since Maj.-Gen. Russell moved from B.R.S. to become a member of the British Transport Commission and then a member of the British Railways Board; his appointment as a member of that board terminated at the end of last September.
At a party at the Great Western Royal Station Hotel, Paddington, Mr. T. G. Gibb, who succeeded Maj.-Gen. Russell as chairman of B.R.S., and who is now managing director of B.R.S. Federation Ltd., presented him, on behalf of Maj.-Gen. Russell's old officers and colleagues, with two carpets and a set of hand-cut English crystal glasses.
