A TRUCK DRIVER had a lucky escape when a man hurled an object through his windscreen on 20 September.

Tony Purkiss was driving through a section of roadworks on the Al 4 eastbound when an A -reg silver Mercedes C180 approached from behind flashing its lights.
The driver tried to overtake but was unable to do so due to the bollards.He later pulled in front of the truck and slammed on his brakes. He continued to accelerate and brake sharply flashing his rear fog light at the truck. The car then sped up and left the A14 at the junction with the A1088.
He stopped on the bridge and he threw an object through the truck windscreen.The offender is described as, white, 20-30 years old, slim to stocky build, clean shaven with short dark hair, wearing a light coloured hooded style top and dark trousers.
Police are also keen to hear from the driver of a white F'ord Escort van who may have witnessed the attack.
