MITSUBISHI HAS released the first official picture of the all new L200 pick-up which is due to reach the dealers next March . The radical exterior is based on the company's Pajero Evolution rally car with power coming from a Euro-4 2.5-litre common-rail turbo-diesel producing 136hp. An upgrade to 160hp will also be available from the launch with automatic transmission as an option.
Other innovations include a chassis that is 25% more rigid with a best-in-class turning circle. The range will include single, club and double-cab variants as well as the commercially orientated 4Work models.
With the previous model securing a 48% market share the company will be pinning its hopes on the new model producing the goods, especially following the recent introduction of new models from Nissan and Toyota.
