FREIGHT TRANSPORT companies and export/ import offices are making departmental cost savings of more than 60 per cent by using modern computer systems tailored to their needs.
According to Management Control Systems, who specialise in designing complete freight transport office and depot systems, improvements in the accuracy and speed of formfilling, communications, records and accounting activities are being made.
Instructions, information and individual consignment details are fed by import/export staff through keyboard video display units and stored in the computer systems.
