It is well known that the S.D. Freighter, as manufactured and marketed by Shelvoke and Drewry, Ltd., of Letchworth, Herts., has achieved con= siderable popularity in this country, but the merits of this particular machine for certain Iasses of work have also spread abroad, and the company have received quite a number of orders from overseas. The latest is that which has come from Shanghai, where the municipal authorities have ordered six machines, five of which will be equipped with hydraulic tipping gear operating double-walled steel bodies lined with asbestos for the haulage of asphaltic concrete ; the remaining machine will he equipped with a fiat platform for enabling general haulage work to be undertaken.
