There has just been started a halfhourly motorbus service between Glasgow and Johnstone, a distance of about 11 miles, Paisley and other populous centres being tapped en route. It is under the control of a private company, and is already receiving a marked amount of public patronage. Another company contemplate running a fleet of buses between Glasgow and Paisley very soon, and it is stated that the increasing opposition to the tramways in this and other districts is creating a feeling of uneasiness among those responsible for the latter system. It may be remembered that it was only quite recently that the Glasgow Town Council acquired possession of the Paisley tramway enterprise.
