• MAN-ERF has signed the E1 bn contract to supply over 5,000 support vehicles and services to the MoD, having beat Oshkosh, Stewart & Stevenson and DaimlerChrysler.
• TISS claims its TankSafe fuel tank anti-siphon device with its patented float valve neck "is the only device that completely stops siphoning and fuel theft". TISS has also patented its carbon-fibre/ Keviar anti-slash CurtainSafe curtains which it says are lighter and more flexible than metal-weave designs.
• Following a UK mini road show of its automated KKS artic safe coupling system (CM 27 January) Jost GB has sold the first unit to Bradfordbased Andy Leadbetter Transport.
• Ratcliff has launched two new lifts at the NEC. The 1.5-tonne Quickf ft Tukaway RPT1507, has an alloy platform, revised four-piece under-run bar and redesigned floor end plate with a new water bar to prevent moisture ingress. The level-ride Cantilever RPCF1507 also has a 1.5-tonne capacity. Ratcliff will source a new range of tuckaway lifts from Palf inger • Joloda Hydraroll has developed a twin rollerbed version of its air cargo Hydrarod load-handling system which it says is 40% more efficient than previous systems. It is less prone to dirt ingress thereby offering reduced downtime. The pallet handling system will be offered with the company's powered cargo rollers for automatic unloading.
