A HAULIER, said to have received PA a warning in 1962 for carrying unauthorized loads, was told by Mr. C. R.' Hodgson, the East Midland Licensing Authority, in Nottingham last week: " You are a most unsatifactory haulier. You had better take a severe warning. from me, too."
Mr. Hodgson reserved his decision on applications by Mr. Anthony D. Cotton, trading as A. D. Cotton, of Stanton, near Burton-on-Trent, for two Contract A licences and for variations on two B licences.
The clerk to the Authority said that on February 7, 1962, a warning letter was sent to Mr. Cotton in respect of allegations arising out of a vehicle used on 12 occasions to carry stone whilst it was authorized on a Contract A licence. On December 17, 1963, said the clerk, Mr. Cotton was convicted at Swadlincote Magistrates Court on three offences of using a vehicle contrary to the conditions of a Contract A licence, And on seven dates in April and May, the clerk claimed, the vehicle had been used for coal.
