After recognition, the union has the right to seek financial information from the company. Information on this is available in an ACAS code of practice (CP02) (see www.acas.org-uk) or in a CAC leaflet (see www.cac.gov-uk).
At this point negotiations should take place. The prescribed method of doing this is laid down in statutory Instrument 2000 no 1300, available from The Stationery Office.
