r County Cork hauler Sean Delaney & Sons has been named Irish Haulier of the Year in the awards sponsored by Eurotunnel and supported by Commercial Motor Ireland.
The chilled food haulier beat off competition from a short list of six operators at last weekend's IRHA annual conference—the judges were impressed by the way it has doubled its fleet from eight to 16 vehicles over the past couple of years.
The company was founded in 1964; most of its work involves travelling to the UK and the Continent for Cuisine de France and Dawn Meats.
• Gerry McMahon became the IRHA's new president at the conference. He takes over from John Guilfoyle and will preside for the next two years.
