A FTER having threatened to ,run
"pirate" buses over the 102 bus route in north London, Mr. Frank.Davis, leader of seven Liberal members of Finchley Borough Council, said last week that London Transport Executive had written to him to say that they had plans for improving the service.
"It just shows what you can do if you kick up a fuss," he commented. If, however, the Executive's plans failed, " pirate " buses would be put on even at the risk of prosecution. When battle was joined with London Transport, it would be the aim to prove that the undertaking were in breach of the London Passenger Transport Act by not providing an adequate service.
STANDARD COACH ROUTES
AN amended list of standard coach routes in London has been published by the Metropolitan Traffic Commissioner. There are 20 gitch routes, as well as seven corridor routes, and the object is that operators, when applying for licences or backings, need refer only to the code numbers given.
