Two Semi-trailer Attachments, a Rigid Six-wheeler Conversion Outfit and a Fourwheeled Trailer
IN chassis form is to be seen the new Flexion Fit-Quick detachable articulated six-wheeler attachment, coupled to a Bedford 8-ton short-wheelbase
chassis. This outfit provides a body space of at least 18 ft. by 6 ft. 6 ins. The unit incorporates a high-power hydraulic lifting jack and quick-release mechanism. The operation of detaching and recoupling is simplified by the self-locating king-pin, whilst the forward-mounted rubber-tyred jockey wheels facilitate inanaeuvring under all conditions of loading.
The other articulated six-wheeler is of the permanent type and incorporates a Morris-Commercial Leader 4-ton short-wheelbase chassis with a six
cylindered engine. In this case the body has double drop sides with detachable centre and corner pillars and a steel body front.
The rigid six-wheeler comprises a converted -Dodge 2f.-ton. forward-con. trol chassis, carrying a. lorry body with
double drop sides with detachable centre and corner pillars. In this case a length of 17 ft, is provided, the width being 7 ft. and the body sides lit. 6 ins. high. A patent balancing arm is provided to minimize wheel spin and to improve load distribution. Maintenance is facilitated by a Tecalemit grouped-nipple system of lubrication. A central traction spring stabilizes the rear axle and acts as a damper to the chassis, ensuring alignment. The outfit weighs under 3 tons.
A four-wheeled 2-3-ton trailer carries a fiat platfomi body, 10 ft. king and 6 ft. wide, with 3-in, chock rails, the rail at the rear being hinged. — Flexion Products, L t d., The Hyde, Hendon, London, N.W.9.
