A New 15-ton Rigid Eight-wheeler with Gardner Oil Engine and 7-8-tonner with a Dorman Compression ignition Unit

HAVING undergone successful tests for some months, the YorkshireDiesel 15-ton rigid eight-wheeler is being shown to the public for the first time. The power unit is of the Gardner 6LW compression-ignition type, of 93 b.h.p. at 1,550 r.p.m.
Both axles of the rear bogie, which incorporates three differentials, are driven.
Hydraulic servo brakes take effect on six wheels, and a 12-volt lighting set is provided. The mean wheelbase is 17 ft. 1i in., providing a body length of 24 ft., the overall length of the machine being 30 ft. 1iin., and the width 7 ft. 5 ins. As exhibited, the vehicle weighs only 6 tons 5 cwt.
The other model on this stand is the maker's 7-8-ton four-wheeler with three-way tipping gear. The machim is powered by a Dorman-Ricardo 4HW oil engine developing 75,10b.h.p.
The large pay-load capacity has been achieved by reducing the unla:len
