I N order to undertake deliveries from the new depot of Shell-Mex and B.P., Ltd, at Ecclesfield, Tuffnells, Ltd., Sheffield, last week sought the addition of two vehicles to their A-licence parcels fleet. The unopposed application was granted by the Yorkshire Deputy Licensing Authority, Mr. J. H. E. Randolph.
Mr. E. J. Shaw, Tuffnells' managing director, said Shell-Mex had asked them to distribute oil in various forms, from 40-gal. barrels to I-pt. bottles. He intended to work the new vehicles with his 16 parcels vans employed in the Sheffield, Worksop and Chesterfield areas.
Between 50 and 70 tons of oil would be stored in Tuffnells* depot, and to help in deliveries they were to employ a driver at present working for Shell-Mex.
