• Bury based Vagsped Limited has lost its international licence after failing to meet a three month deadline to obtain a new transport manager.
In June its Associate Xercon Industries had its five vehicle and three trailer licence revoked following convictions for using forged permits. Its transport manager Vernon George, convicted of forging a permit, was held not to be of good repute by North Western Licensing Authority Roy Hutchings. George was also the nominated transport manager of the two vehicle and trailer licence of Vagsped and the LA gave that company three months grace to obtain a new transport manager, (CM June 14).
The company failed to attend a Manchester Public Enquiry and Hutchings, in revoking the licence, said it had not nominated a new transport manager. Consequently he was not satisfied that the company met the requirement to be of good repute.
