for a party, limited to 40 members of the Road Haulage Association's longdistance group, to visit West Germany next May. The outward journey would be on a Saturday, returning the follow ing Wednesday. • it is proposed that the itinerary should include visits to the German road haulage association, a long-distance operator's depot and the Mercedes-Benz works.
Mr. J. A. Murly, chairman of the international group, has offered assistance in the arrangements.
The bulk liquids group is also contemplating a trip abroad next year.
Removal of Wallasey Landing Stage: The Mersey Docks and Harbour Board has decided to remove the Wallasey landing stage. built nearly 100 years ago, which has been used mainly to disembark cattle and livestock. It has so deteriorated that to retain it would involve very heavy expenditure which cannot be justified. The cattle trade will continue to be fully provided for at Birkenhead landing stage.
