A SERIES of transport legislation seminars to be held in the Midlands has been organised by the West Midland Productivity Association.

Two of the day-long seminars will deal with the current position on legislation and specifically with the measures which have resulted from Britain's membership of the EEC including the adoption of EEC-type record books, the proposed reduction in drivers' hours and rest period requirements.

The present position on tachographs and the legislation which is to be introduced to require transport managers to be licenced, will also be discussed.

One of the seminars is to be held at the Park House Hotel, Shifnal, Salop, on Thursday, October 14, and the other at the Chamber of Commerce, Harborne Road, Birmingham, on Thursday, October 28.

An afternoon seminar dealing with new legislation affecting the drivers of light vehicles who are now required to hold heavy goods vehicle driving licences will be held at Lichfield on Thursday, November 11.
