• Montracon is providing two-year AA breakdown cover with its new trailers, with a guaranteed onehour response time. Trailers bought within the past year will also be covered.
• Kirkstall Speciality Axles has launched a range of front non-drive steer axles. The Dana K-Series range comprises five models with capacities from 3,5008,000kg. The axles incorporate maintenance-free sealed-for-life wheel and kingpin thrust bearings. The brake callipers are mounted directly to the steering knuckles, saving the weight of intermediate brackets.
• Scania (Great Britain) has re-organised its subsidiary network. Scanlink and Northway Scania have merged as Scanlink to cover eastern England from the Wash to Yorkshire, from a base at Normanton. Heathrow-based Southway Scania has incorporated Westrucks to cover southern England from west London to Cornwall. Scania's other subsidiaries, Union Trucks, Scantruck and Reliable Vehicles, continue with some personnel changes.
