TWO NAMES have already been mentioned as possible successors to Road Transport Industry Training Board chairman Kenneth Turner who has resigned.
It is thought that either National Freight Corporation chairman Sir Dan Pettit or former Transport and General Workers Union general secretary Jack Jones could succeed Mr Turner.
Sir Dan is due to retire from the NFC early next year but Mr Jones has already retired and would be available immediately — if he decided to accept the job. So far there has been no word from the Department of Employment, which is responsible for making the appointment on the successor.
