PAA COMBINED liquid metal and sodium amalgam cell to power military vehicles is under study at the Allison Division of General Motors, U.S.A., as part of a research programme directed toward the elimination of long and vulnerable fuel supply lines. A laboratory model is to be developed.
The cell would replace present types of automobile engines and supply electric POwer for vehicle propulsion. After eight hours operation it could be recharged by a mobile nuclear reactor.
