• A new A-licence for seven vehicles was granted to E. and A. Clegg (Whitworth) Ltd., in Manchester last week, and two vehicles will remain on the original B-licence for short-distance work and maintenance purposes.
BRS and British Railways objected to Clegg's application to convert nine vehicles from B to A licence but after discussions agreement was reached. The conditions of the A vehicles will be: "Textiles, chemicals, castings, machinery, stone, metals, paper and paper products for Textile Paper Tubes Ltd., cattle foods, felt, jute, bagging; Lanes, Yorks, Durham, Scotland, Cheshire, Midlands and London area".
Mr. H. Clegg, director, gave an under taking that the five flats and two vans on A would remain four-wheelers.
