ANOTHER one for coach and bus enthusiasts is The Picture Postcard, an Early View of Transport (Omnibus Society; £2.20 post free). It is compiled from the collection of Judith and Peter Deegan.
It appears that in Britain the expansion of the postcard industry was hampered by a less-than-co-operative attitude by the Post Office and not until 1903 was final approval given for the divided back style of card (message and address on the back) to be used. It is these cards that form the collection from which 51 have been chosen for this collection. In some cases the Omnibus Society welcomes further identification of the photos from readers.
