Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

• Le Freight services through the Eurotunnel are still at least two months from resuming and the company is no closer to say. mg when services will restart.

According to a spokeswoman for Eurotunnel, nothing can happen until the French authorities investigating the causes of last November's fire report their findings. It is expected to be published at the end of January at the earliest and only once this has happened will Eurotunnel make public the findings of its own inquiry.

Even if the company was given the go-ahead to restart freight services, it would need the damaged section of track to be fully functioning if it were to offer a full service. Shipments of cars and Eurostar services that resumed before Christmas are avoiding the damaged section of tunnel and track while repairs are carried out.

At the time of the fire, it was predicted the repairs would take three to five months which would take a possible opening through to the end of February at the earliest. Eurotunnel was unable to say this week how the work is progressing.
