SUBSISTENCE ALLOWANCES? CONSIDERATION has been given l■-• by the workers' side of the National Joint Negotiating Committee for the operating and other wage grades section of British Road Services to resolutions received from members of the Transport and General Workers' Union on the subject of wages. An application has been submitted for an increase in pay and an improvement in the subsistence allowance.
There will be a meeting of the Road Haulage Wages Council on July 15, at which the T.G.W.U. will present evidence in support of the claim for a rise in wage rates and subsistence allowances.
