Coaches and Components Progress.

The Dennis concern was well represented at the opening, last week, of the spacious new showrooms of Coaches and Components. Ltd., at 469-471a, Holloway Road, London, N.7, and Sir Raymond Dennis, K.B.E., who officially declared the premises opened, was supported by Mr. W. Fish, director, Mr. W. Hobbs, 0.11E., and Mr. A. Homewood, London sales manager. The Coaches and Components concern, as is well known, is the distributor for Dennis products in London, north of the Thames, and, apart from its sales activities, it has developed an efficient service organization, and carries a good stock of spares.

Mr. E. F. Mays, a director, extended a welcome to Sir Raymond, who wished the company every success in its enterprise, and Mr. J. R. Pegley, co-director, after expressing appreciation of his visit, revealed the company's plans and intentions, during the course of which he hinted at a rise in prices of commercial-vehicle chassis. The Coaches and Components premises occupy 20,000 sq. ft. of space and, apart from the good showroom accommodation, there are extensive works and offices. An idea of the success which is being achieved can be gathered from the fact that the company has contracted to take £80,000 worth of chassis and bodies for 1937.

There was a good sprinkling of operators at the opening and they had

an opportunity of inspecting a number of products in the Dennis range, these including two 45-cwt. chassis .(one normal and one forward control),

A32 a Lancet chassis, a light 4-ton chassis, a 50-cwt. low-loading machinery carrier, two Lancet 32-seater coaches, one with a Dennis body and the other with a Duple body, a cattle truck with a Jennings body, and an 'Arrow Minor 26-seater.
