• The use of garage staff as drivers and conductors, the employment of part-timers, and recruitment, for the first time, of women conductors—these are leading factors in a productivity deal which Hull Corporation busmen have agreed to discuss. In return they want a £1 a week rise backdated to December 14 1967. The corporation would also expect the men to work more split shifts over longer periods of the day, and longer hours.
