Mr. David Webster, one of the Conservative front bench spokesmen on transport, died suddenly on Wednesday. He was 45 and MP for Weston-super-Mare.
He was joint secretary. Conservative parliamentary transport committee 196162: chairman 1963-64 and vice-chairman 1964-65.
Mr. Webster was a war-time RAF pilot and parachute-jumping instructor.
Mr. Anthony Barber, party chairman, described his death as "a great loss".
