Well, it looks like Nee° has done enough t convince existing Cargo operators to bu
some more: the Tector-powered Euromodel gives more of the same, with bette fuel consumption, enhanced driveability an longer service intervals. It's a shame that th cab and chassis don't match up to the innova tion of the engine, but Iveco has enough of . job satisfying existing customers with ; bewildering array of engine, running gea. and wheelbase options.
Moving to Euro-3 without losing anything ir the way of payload or productivity would be ar impressive feat in itself. But to improve fue economy while keeping the price so competi; tive—this chassis costs 17,000 less than the 75E14S we tested in1997—is a real bonus.
At the Euro-3 Cargo's launch Iveco predicted that repair & maintenance contract prices would be around 12-20% less than for the old model. With stats like that the Cargo will stay popular for a long time yet.
