• The Federation of Engine Remanufacturers is to lobby parliament for a legal definition of the terms "remanufactured" and "reconditioned".
"Such definitions exsist in other areas," says the FER executive secretary David Gardener."
The move is a daily stream of phone calls from members of the public complaining about the quality of supposidly reconditioned engines, says Gardener.
The FER wants the terms "remanufachired" and "reconditioned" to be synonomous. to eliminate any confusion. Its campaign is supported by the Retail Motor Industry Federation.
The FER's exhibition and workshops will be held on 11-12 June in the Bournemouth International Centre.
