Which of the following most accurately describes the problem?

trailer to can'/ two cars and to be hauled by a long-wheelbase Land-Rover. What regulations would apply as regards licensing?

AIf the trailer to which you refer is to be a

draw-bar trailer and the LandRover is of a type constructed or adapted for the carriage of goods then under the present licensing system you would require a carriers' licence (A. B or C according to the circumstances) for both the Land-Rover and the trailer. Application for this would have to be made to your local Licensing Authority.

As regards licensing for excise duty purposes. the amount payable would depend on the unladen weight of the Land-Rover coupled with the appropriate amount for the trailer.

But as the Transport Bill now before Parliament proposes to abolish the A. B and C licensing procedure it would seem prudent to await the final details of the resulting Act before becoming involved in financial commitments in connection with your proposal.
