1ransport manager Gerard Palmer is responsible for a 36-strong fleet in a company that grows and distributes fresh produce.
It leases most of its vehicles on a three-tofive-year basis, and since most of those leases have been running for only about one year, the digital tachograph problem is not an immediate one.
However, Palmer does have serious concerns about the potential cost of training when Huntapac finally has to embrace the new technology.
"What we may do is train a trainer," he says. "That is to say, get a couple of guys trained up and let them train the others."
