has been running his Redditch-based business for 15 years, under taking both international taking both international 1111=1111 and domestic removals. The company has ordered a new vehicle, which is scheduled for delivery in February or March, and will be fitted with a digital tachograph. Most of the other half-dozen units in the fleet have been renewed in the past few years and will not need replacing for some time. Despite the imminent arrival of digital machinery, issues such as training drivers to use it and deciding who will pay for their smart cards don't seem to be major priorities for James at the moment.
"I've not really read that much about it," he says. "As for the new truck, well just have to worry about it when it comes in. What we will probably do is allocate one driver to it."
